It was the night of the worst snowstorm anyone has ever seen. You could hear the wind howling from your window while you slept, and if you stepped outside, you'd most likely get frostbite after a few minutes. That was the worst night to be born, and very unlikely too, since it was winter, and not spring. But, this is the story of a cat who was born on that very night.
There was an abandoned barn in the place of this storm. No one looked after it, or even payed attention to it, they just pretended it wasn't there. Luckily, 2 cats had found it that night, and were glad that they hadn't frozen to death. One of the cats was a she-cat called Autumn. The other was a tom-cat called Kuro. They ran into the barn as fast as they could, since they were expecting something. Something big in excitement, but small in reality.
A small cry came from the barn. New life had been created. Autumn began licking the small kit frantically as Kuro just sat there, a look of happiness and sorrow in his eyes.
"Autumn, you know that she will have to live with this curse, right? What are we going to do about it?" he muttered.
"Don't think about that yet. Come on, come see her. She's beautiful." Autumn whispered back, tears welling in her eyes.
Kuro walked over, and wrapped his tail around Autumn to warm her up. He smiled. "She is a really beautiful kit, and she also looks so much like you." he said.
"What should we name her?" asked Autumn, "It should be something original... And have meaning."
Kuro pondered that for a moment. He looked closely at the small kit, her tail now moving gracefully. Then he said, "Willow."
"Th-that's perfect!" Autumn gasped, wrapping her tail closely around the small bundle of fur, which was the kit. "How did you come up with that?"
Kuro smiled. "It just... Came to me."
